Great that you've changed your mind, though you should try out installing some of the more basic distros and customize your own system.
For example Arch, Slackware, {Open,Free,Net}BSD.

What the hell is that text IDE you're using/does it support vim-like controls?


I'm an arch user too! I'm currently settling into awesome though, not Xmonad. Would you say Xmonad is better/faster?
